Recruiting Program

Many attorneys at Cobb Cole have been hired from the Firm's Summer Associate Program, and Cobb Cole looks to this program to fill associate openings. The associates at Cobb Cole participate in a unique compensation plan which goes beyond salary and other benefits. The "Working Smarter" plan is designed to enhance associate development. The plan shifts focus away from gross billable hours, and takes into consideration developmental or non-billable hours which are not included in a traditional compensation model. This unique program of incentive compensation was developed to inspire associates to achieve the standards which Cobb Cole expects of its attorneys. The program has been so successful that Cobb Cole received the 2009 Michael K. Reese Quality of Life Award for its promotion of balance and fulfillment in the lives of its attorneys. The Michael K. Reese Quality of Life Award is an award bestowed by the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division in recognition of a person and/or entity that advances balance and fulfillment in lawyers' lives by redefining current work habits and schedules to provide more flexibility and a more meaningful existence.

Associates at Cobb Cole play an integral role in Firm management through committee membership. Committee membership is generally open to associates, and associates are active on the Firm's Recruiting Committee, Social Committee and the Marketing Committee, to name just a few. Committee involvement provides an opportunity for associates to provide meaningful input into the administration of the Firm while working with and getting to know other attorneys outside the associate’s practice area.
